This is about allowing a child to decide to start trans therapy. The atmosphere can be that anything that is not uncritically affirming what the child thinks they want is 'transphobic'.
It's not actually acting in the child's best interests as they are not really in a position to decide. They are 'under age' for a reason.
They can be advised by doctors/counsellors to not discuss this issue with their parents - who are their legal guardians. This in itself is shameful and may be illegal.

We don’t take this hands-off approach in any other abnormality. Eg for an anorexic: ‘You look fine, no need to eat’
