- Yes but not the body in your body
In-brief
A key question is when does life begin? Is it at conception or when the baby is viable outside the womb? Does it matter if there are defects? When women miscarry they experience that as a tragic experience. There is no doubt then that it is a life lost. Mothers often do feel the moral and personal loss.
Science agrees that life begins at conception in the sense that nothing is added other than nutrition. The essential nature of the new person is set at that point.
Often mothers under pressure of circumstances don’t feel they have a choice (fathers not involved?) as the medical establishment encourages abortion – no Plan B – despite the many other couples desiring to adopt. Over 97% of abortions are elective - not about risk to mother or result of rape.
So why is this a key issue? See Deeper Article.
